First Vanuatu citizens repatriated due to COVID
The first Vanuatu citizens repatriated due to COVID-19 have arrived in Port Vila.
Len Tarivonda, Vanuatu’s COVID-19 Spokesperson, says the seven citizens have been repatriated from the Solomon Islands by the Solomon Airlines.
He says another group will be repatriated from Fiji in the coming days.
Mr Tarivonda says the citizens will spend some days in a quarantine area approved by the government.
The Vanuatu Police Force is providing tight security at the Port Vila airport.
