Vanuatu's government has decided that it will upgrade or repair feeder roads around the country, this year.
This was confirmed by Prime Minister, Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas,in his New Years message to the people.
Prime Minister Salwai stated that his government has allocated 3 billion vatu to upgrade feeder roads and build new roads to connect farmers to their markets or to necessary infrastructure which will allow for better access to markets.
He continued that this project will target islands such as Erromango, Malekula, Ambrym, Maewo and others where there are large productive sectors.
The head of government also said that included in the project is maintainance of some of the country's shipping, or wharf infrastructure as well as security related to such undertakings.
