Malampa province Counsellor, Sumkon Tasso, from Ambrym island has questioned the National government as to when they intend to help relocate people in the Southeast area of the island who are being affected by the island's volcano.
Mr Tasso said that it is a big concern for the people of Ambrym that the people of Southeast Ambrym have not been relocated and are still living with their homes damaged beyond repair.
Councillor Tasso also stated that he witnessed first-hand the death of marine resources, especially fish.
He has called on the Geology and water department to send a team down to Ambrym to make studies and find answers to the cause of the death of marine life.
He also called on the national government to make prompt decisions to assist affected people because people need to be relocated to safer and healthier places to live.
