Vanuatu's Ministry of health has approved to provided minimum health services on Ambae.

VBTC News spoke to Dr Samuel Busikae, who is the chairperson of the national health cluster, and he confirmed this.

He said that the ministry's primary objective is to serve the people and so health services will have to be provided to those who have returned to Ambae.

Markleen Tagaro, the Penama Provincial Health Administrator said that the minimum health services will be re-established at Kwalaha, in the western side of the island and Lolowai in the east.

He continued that for the first three month Lolowai hospital which will service the people of east south and north Ambae will operate at a health centre capacity.

Mr Tagaro went on to confirm that the services will be provided beginning next week.
