Malampa Provincial government says its working on a long term plan to help the Ambrym volcanoe victims if the situation gets worse in future.

People from four villages on South East Ambrym have moved to safer zones, following the eruption of the volcanoes on the island which destroyed houses, and gardens.

Malampa provincial government Secretary General, Neil Netaf says his team is working together with chiefs and land owners to identify safe zones, that will later become evacuation centers.

Mr Netaf says Malampa province appreciates offer made by the other provinces to accept the Ambrym volcanoe victims but for now, its best to acquire a huge land for evacuation purposes.
