Vanuatu will have for its first time a ni-Vanuatu female judge of Vanuatu's Supreme court after 39 years of Independence.
This lady is Viran Molisa Trief.
Acting Chief Registra of the Supreme Court, Joel Shemi says the Judical service Commission commence this appointment not long.
He says Mrs Trief is among the 10 ni-vans and international applicants contest for the position of a Judge for the supreme court thus Mrs Molisa Trief was a successful candidate due to her expericience in legal profession.
Mrs Viran Molisa Trief has many experience as a Solicitor general at the State Law Office for 7 years appearing on Supreme and Appeal court on behalf of State Law Office and now a Programme Coordinator of the stretem Rod for Justice, a Vanuatu Australia Policing Justice Programme.
Head of State of the republic of Vanuatu, Obed Moses Tallis will appoint Mrs Viran Molisa Trief and she expects to commence duty mid-July 2019.
