The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, IFRC has released 30 million vatu as a Disaster Response Emergency Fund.

This fund will specifically be used at this time, to aid the people on Ambae island in the current Manaro volcano disaster.

Red Cross Vanuatu CEO, Jacqueline De Gaillande, has told VBTC News that the fund will be used especially in helping families being relocated to their homes on neighbouring Maewo island.

The funds will cater for around 1000 families or 5000 people.

The fund comes through the help of 190 Societies worldwide.
