Vanuatu family health centre in Luganville santo is conducting cervical screening for women in Luganville, and nearby villages, Jarailan, Narango and Belmo in south Santo.

The centre's logistics officer, Bule Chris, reports that the screenings are to check mothers and younger women for cancers of the reproductive system.

Mr Chris also said that it is very important for women to get regular medical check-ups because many have lost their lives to the disease, especially those aged between 25 and 30 years.
