Vanuatu celebrated for the first time today, the Global Day for Parents.
The day was declared by the United Nations in 2012.
In Port Vila, students, teachers and parents too part in a parade through town, with banners, highlighting the day's theme, about parents being the key sucess to children's education learning.
At an official ceremony at the sea front, Minister of Education Jean Pierre Nirua spoke about how parents struggled to make sure their children are educated.
And are faced with different challenges in communities they live in.
